Tax Update 2004

Scott W. Pickett is the managing partner for the Salt Lake City office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. He has over 24 years of public accounting experience providing assistance to individuals and business entities through tax consulting, planning, and compliance services.

Mr. Pickett has vast experience in dealing with difficult tax issues. This experience involves both smaller organizations as well as large, established clients of the firm. He has served as the partner for most of the major clients in the Salt Lake City office.

Mr. Pickett received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Utah in 1979 and subsequently received his Master’s of Professional Accountancy in 1980 from the same institution. Mr. Pickett was named Outstanding Alumnus in 1997 by the University of Utah School of Accountancy. He was also honored to receive the Zion’s Bank “Up ‘N Comers” Award for 1993.

Mr. Pickett has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations including United Way, American Red Cross (Greater Salt Lake Area Chapter), Ballet West, and the Legal Aid Society. He has served as president of the YMCA, Salt Lake Art Center, and University Hospital Foundation. Mr. Pickett also serves as an adjunct professor in the University of Utah’s Masters of Accounting program. Mr. Pickett is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants.
